Updates from the Office of the Provost 06-09-2025
Published June 09, 2025
Dear Colleagues,
As we look toward preparations for the upcoming academic year, I want to share a few
important personnel updates from Academic Affairs.
As previously communicated last week, the national search for the next Dean of the
College of Engineering and Physical Sciences is currently underway. The search committee
will hold its first meeting this Friday, chaired by Dean Kelly Crane, and will collaborate
with Parker Executive Search throughout the process. We are committed to a transparent
and inclusive approach, and we will continue to provide updates to the campus community
as the search progresses. We are grateful to the following colleagues for their willingness
to serve:
Dana Caulton, Atmospheric Science
Katie Li-Oakey, Chemical & Biomedical Engineering
David Anderson, Chemistry
Haibo Zhai, Civil & Architectural Engineering & Construction Mgmt.
Diksha Shukla, EECS
Morteza Dejam, Energy & Petroleum Engineering
Dario Grana, Geology & Geophysics
Bryan Shader, Mathematics & Statistics
Jonathan Naughton, Mechanical Engineering
Jinke Tang, Physics & Astronomy
Cindy Jones, Center for Student Success
Kayla Ketterling, Civil & Architectural Engineering & Construction Mgmt.
Reuben McGuire, Mechanical Engineering
Dane Taylor, School of Computing
Greg Hill, External Stakeholder
Angie Schrader, External Stakeholder
Tom Peterson, External Advisor
I am pleased to announce that Dr. Beth McMillan has been appointed to serve as Interim
Director of the School of Computing, effective August 21, 2025. This follows a process
that included letters of interest and feedback gathered by an ad hoc advisory committee
representing faculty and staff across the School and College. Dr. McMillan brings
a wealth of academic and leadership experience to this role. She currently serves
as Academic Program Director in the School of Computing, where she has played a central
role in faculty coordination, curriculum development, and student engagement.
Finally, I want to acknowledge the upcoming departure of Kyle Moore, Vice Provost
for Enrollment Management, who will be leaving UW later this summer to pursue a new
professional opportunity. Kyle has played a key role in strengthening our enrollment
strategies, building new pipelines for student recruitment, and expanding partnerships
across the state. He has deep knowledge of enrollment management and has set up our
university well to tackle enrollment challenges in the future. Kyle has been a wonderful
colleague and terrific asset to UW. We thank him for his service to the University
of Wyoming and wish him all the best in his next chapter.
Enjoy the weekend.
