Dear Colleagues, 

UW Staff Senate will host its annual Holiday Market this Friday, December 12, from 10:00am to 7:00pm at the UW Conference Center. This wonderful event brings together local artisans, crafters, and campus partners, providing a fun opportunity to support our staff community and find unique gifts. I hope you’ll stop by to enjoy the energy and creativity of the season, and a big thank you to Staff Senate for hosting this event each year!

 

I’d also like to highlight the 2025 United Way of Albany County campaign, which is now underway. United Way continues to support essential services throughout our community, and UW employees have the option to contribute through payroll deduction. Even small, recurring gifts make a meaningful difference for families and organizations in Albany County. If you’re able, please consider participating this year. To all our faculty colleagues: a quick academic reminder as we near the end of the term that final grades are due online by noon on December 18. I’ll be checking this list twice (!), so thank you in advance for helping us stay on track during this busy time!

 

As Finals Week comes to an end tomorrow and we look forward to Winter Commencement Saturday, all of us in Academic Affairs are wishing you a strong finish to the semester and a moment of calm amid the end-of-year bustle.
