If you’re anything like me, you’re always on the hunt for the best places to grab a bite, especially when you’re busy running between classes or catching up with friends. Luckily, the University of Wyoming has so many great dining options right here on campus! Whether you’re in the mood for something quick and familiar or looking to sit down and enjoy a meal, there’s something for everyone. From tasty bagels and coffee to satisfying meals and even a spot to unwind after a long day, UW has you covered. Let's dive into everything about my favorite spots for food on campus.
Washakie Dining Center
The Washakie Dining Center is basically the one all be all for all things food on campus. It’s like a buffet but better, with different stations offering a variety of options that change everyday. They’ve got pizza, burgers, fresh salads, vegetarian dishes, and the fan favorite Ice Cream Machine. It’s super convenient if you live on campus, and there’s always plenty of seating. My favorite part? You can go back for seconds (or thirds)!
Panda Express
Need something fast and full of flavor? Panda Express in the Wyoming Union is your go-to for American Chinese food classics like orange chicken, teriyaki chicken, fried rice, and chow mien. I personally go for the honey walnut shrimp but I’m sure you’ll find something that suits your taste. Panda’s perfect for grabbing a quick meal between classes, and trust me, it hits the spot every time.
Chick-fil-A
You can’t go wrong with a Chick-fil-A Spicy Chicken Sandwich with some waffle fries and a frozen lemonade. It’s also in the Union, so it’s super easy to swing by if you’re already there. It’s great for a quick lunch or an early dinner. It’s also quite popular and lines can get pretty long so make sure you download the UWyo Eats App to skip the line and get right to the grub.
Cowboy Joe’s Convenience Store
Need a quick snack, a cold drink, or even some essentials for your dorm? Cowboy Joe’s Convenience Store in the Wyoming Union has you covered. It’s the ultimate stop-and-go spot for personal care items, grab-and-go snacks, and even sushi from Nikos! Whether you’re running to class or heading back to your room, CJ’s makes life easier.
Rolling Mill Café
Craving Starbucks coffee or pink drink? Rolling Mill Café in the Union is the place to be. They’ve got fresh pastries, the best breakfast and lunch paninis you will ever have the pleasure of eating, and seasonal drinks year-round. It’s a solid choice for a snack or a light breakfast or lunch.
Einstein Bros.
If breakfast is your favorite meal of the day, or you just need caffeine ASAP, Einstein Bros. Bagels in the Enzi STEM building has you covered. Their bagels are always fresh, and their breakfast sandwiches are to die for. I usually grab an All Nighter Bagel Sandwich with a Caramel Macchiato before my morning classes and it always gets me ready to take on the day.
Elements Café
Located in the Classroom Building, Elements is perfect for those early mornings or a lunch break when you need a pick-me-up between your 8 AMs and 12 PMs. They serve affordable breakfast sandwiches, salads, and coffee to keep you going. It’s also super close to most lecture halls, so it’s a convenient stop.
Rendezvous
Rendezvous in Ross Hall is like a hidden gem. They’ve got a little bit of everything. The best nachos in Laramie, fresh salads, customizable sandwiches, great coffee, and a bunch of comfy seating that will help you relax after a long lecture or exam. It’s a great spot if you’re looking for fantastic food and a nice spot to kick back with a meal before your next class.
The Book & Bean
Located in the Library, The Book & Bean is a caffeine lover’s paradise. They serve Peet’s brand coffee, so you know the espresso and frappes are top-notch. It’s the perfect place to grab a tea, pastry, or red bull infusion during a long study session. As a lot of college students can tell you, there’s nothing like a warm latte to keep you focused.
Encore Café
This one’s for my theater kids and music bros…or anyone who finds themselves near the Buchanan Center. Encore Café serves Jackrabbit Java coffee, paninis, and soups. It’s a cozy little spot that’s a great option for those early morning cravings. It is pretty far from the rest of campus dining but definitely check it out when you have the chance.
Pokes Pub
Okay, this one’s a little different, but if you’re 21+ and need a place to chill, Pokes Pub in the Union is awesome. They have locally brewed beers, seltzers, and fantastic cocktails. With the Game Hubs Billiards and Ping Pong tables right next to the bar it’s perfect for winding down after a busy day with your friends. And if you’re not 21 yet, there’s no need to worry, they have mocktails and sodas to make sure you have just as much fun.
With so many delicious options, there’s always something to satisfy your cravings
at UW. Whether you’re grabbing a quick coffee or enjoying a sit-down meal, these spots
make campus life even better. For the most up-to-date hours and menus, check out the
Dining Services Website and use the UWyo Eats App to save yourself some time. If your feeling lost with all the options, don’t forget
to use the Interactive Campus Map and the Dining Locations Interactive Map to find your way around. Happy eating! Go Pokes!
