Snow Much Fun in Laramie

 

Whether you're an adrenaline junkie chasing thrilling outdoor activities or looking for cozy and serene winter vibes, Laramie offers something for everyone. Some of my favorite winter activities include going sledding and grabbing a warm drink with my closest friends or cozying up to watch some of my favorite holiday movies. Here is a list of some of the must do winter activities in Laramie:  

 

Ice skating at the Laramie Ice and Event Center

Whether you're a seasoned skater or trying it for the first time, the center offers open skate sessions, Stick and Puck sessions, Learn to Skate sessions and rentals to make your experience fun and convenient. Catch a Movie at Regal Fox Cinemas  

Stay inside and enjoy new and classic films at Regal Fox Cinemas. The theater offers a variety of screening options, including some holiday favorites. Use UW’s Outdoor Program for Equipment Rentals 

Take your winter adventures to the next level with high quality gear from the University of Wyoming’s Outdoor Program. Offering affordable rentals for skis and snowboards, snowshoes, snow shovels and more.  The program makes exploring Laramie’s snowy mountains accessible and enjoyable. Their expert staff can also provide recommendations for trails and activities suited to your interests and skill level. With Snowy Range Ski Area being just a 30-minute drive from Laramie, you can hit the slopes anytime using top notch equipment. 

 

 

Visit Coe Library for Fun Events 

Coe Library is more than just a quiet place to study, it’s a great place to embrace your creativity and community during the winter. Throughout the winter months, the library hosts a variety of events and workshops tailored to students and community members alike. From wellness activities designed to help you de-stress during midterms and finals to informative sessions on course design and learning tools, there’s always something happening. Go Ice Fishing  

For a peaceful winter escape, you can try your luck ice fishing in the lakes and reservoirs near Laramie. With the snow covered mountains as your backdrop, it’s an unforgettable experience for outdoor enthusiasts. Bring your own gear or rent equipment locally, and don’t forget a thermos of hot chocolate to keep warm while you wait for the perfect catch. 

 

 

Workout at Half Acre Gym 

You can stay in shape even during the colder months at Half Acre Gym.
