The Cowboy Commitment

Wyoming Residents

This information is for the academic year 2021-22.

Important Note for Students

To help accommodate the challenges students may be experiencing across the country this year, official ACT/SAT test scores will be optional for certain levels of the Cowboy Commitment if a student is unable to complete a test for the upcoming academic year. More information on no-test award amounts coming soon!

The Trustee Scholarship and Hathaway Scholarship awards will still require an ACT/SAT score.

The University of Wyoming wants students from the Cowboy State to know that college is within reach. We are proud to introduce the Cowboy Commitment, an annual financial pledge that benefits incoming first-year students from Wyoming who are beginning college in fall 2021.

Our financial commitment to you depends upon your ACT/SAT scores and unweighted high school GPA, but has four levels: $6,500, $3,500, $1,500 and $500.

This financial commitment is initially funded through the generosity of Foundation donors and if necessary will be supplemented by other institutional aid. To receive this commitment you are required to complete the General Application and any applicable recommended applications within WyoScholarships. See the below grid to determine what level of commitment you may be eligible for:
