The University of Wyoming Project GO program is a hybrid blend of online preparatory course work with an Arabic intensive study abroad experience in the Kingdom of Jordan for ROTC cadets. This summer scholarship program will provide ROTC students not only with a quality language experience (190+ instructional hours in Jordan and 45 domestically) but extensive cultural immersion through arranged homestays in Amman, Jordan over a 10-week period.

Length of Program: 2 months domestically (online), 10 weeks abroad (Jordan)
Program Dates: April – August 16th, 2024
Program Provider: The University of Wyoming and partner institution in Jordan
# of credit hours: 6 credits transferable to any university
To be eligible for a UW Project GO Scholarship, an applicant must fulfill each of the following requirements at the time of application and for the duration of the program:
1. U.S. citizen
2. An undergraduate or graduate student on track to commission through the Army, Naval, or Air Force Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC), contracted or uncontracted, at a regionally accredited college or university in the United States. Marine Platoon Leaders Class (PLC) students are also eligible
3. Remain in ROTC for the duration of the program
4. Not be a commissioned officer
5. Be in an inactive, non-drilling status
6. Not be employed by the U.S. federal government or any foreign government
Not Eligible for UW Project GO Scholarship:
1. Non-U.S. citizens
2. Active-duty military members (not participating in ROTC)
3. Navy Seaman to Admiral Program members
4. Officer Candidate School participants
5. JROTC students
6. Service academy students
7. Federal or foreign government employees
All applications must be made through the National Project GO website.

There are no prerequisites for this program. This program is designed for the novice Arabic learner and integrates preparatory components to prepare you for your international experience! This program accepts students at higher levels, with the online component being optional for them.

University of Wyoming Project GO offers fully-funded scholarships for this program. If selected to receive this funding, it will not, in any way, adversely affect a student’s ROTC scholarship.
Scholarship covers:
o Tuition/Fees
o Lodging
o Meals
o Travel to/from the program location
o Textbooks and other required language learning materials
o Travel insurance
o Visa
Scholarship DOES NOT cover:
o Personal spending expenses
o Personal travel
o Costs for obtaining a passport
o Medications or vaccinations
o Expenses for any dependents

Register now for the UWYO MOPI Workshop
The workshop is being held from April 7th-10th. Registration opens December 15th and closes February 9th. For more information please contact Shawn Bunning at shawnb@uwyo.edu.
Interested participants must be Project GO instructors scheduled to teach in the upcoming Summer 2023 program cycle. This workshop will host a limited number of participants, so an application does not guarantee your registration. Applications are a request of attendance. Confirmation emails will be sent out on February 23rd to those invited to the workshop.
