Research Opportunities
Outside scholars, as well as UW faculty and students, are invited to utilize the Art Museum collections and related materials for independent research. The curatorial staff is happy to assist and facilitate access to specific information or artworks. Please send a completed research request form by email to curator@uwyo.edu and a member of the curatorial staff will respond within two weeks.
If you need assistance with how to research an artist or artwork that is not in the Art Museum collection or with finding an appraiser or conservator, complete the research request form and e-mail it to curator@uwyo.edu and a member of the Art Museum staff will provide you with a reference list. Please note that the Art Museum is unable to provide appraisals, conservation assistance or critiques of artwork.
The Art Museum invites faculty to use the collection as a teaching resource and encourages students to study original artwork. The exhibitions curator assists in creating projects that correlate to all areas of study. Students are welcome to use the collection for individual research projects and internships. To get started, please, e-mail us at curator@uwyo.edu with ideas, requests or the objective of your course and we will be happy to work with you to find works in the collection that fit your criteria.
