Dean's Weekly Address

Greetings Staff and Faculty of the College of Arts and Sciences,

The summer is a busy time in the Dean’s office preparing for events later this year. This week I meet with the committee for the UW Humanities Summit which will take place on October 8-9. This is coming together as a valuable event to highlight the importance of the humanities at UW, Wyoming, and beyond. More information will be provided later this summer, but be sure to place a hold in your calendars.

The UW Board of Trustees will be holding their July meeting at the Neltje Center in Sheridan, so there has been a lot of work happening to prepare for this important event. I will be traveling across the state many days in July communicating with stakeholders from all corners of Wyoming. Our office is hard at work getting ready for multiple events and projects this fall including our Board of Visitors meeting, tenure and promotion processes, and many others.

There will be no weekly address next week, and I hope everyone has a terrific holiday weekend for the 4th of July.

Most sincerely,

J. Scott Turpen
