Greetings Staff and Faculty of the College of Arts and Sciences,
Happy Friday before spring break! Whether you're taking some well-earned time off or using the quiet to catch up on projects, I hope you have an enjoyable next week. Thank you for all you do!
For faculty seeking opportunities to apply for grants, we are working together with the Research Development Office to provide proposal development for faculty. As you’re researching different grants, you may consider using PIVOT, a software program that helps identify grant opportunities based on your selected criteria. If you are interested in exploring what they may be able to offer, keep an eye out for an email from us that will have more information.
We are excited to announce that Logan Arnold has been promoted to the role of Executive Business Manager beginning March 10. In this role, Logan oversees the shared staff center that serves the Theatre and Dance, Music, and Visual Arts departments and the Fine Arts Outreach unit. Logan has been with the University of Wyoming since 2021 and most recently served as the Business Manager for the English, Modern and Classical Languages, and History Departments. Congrats Logan!
Last weekend, the Department of Modern and Classical Languages hosted their annual World Languages Day competition. 345 visiting secondary students and 33 teachers representing 13 junior high and high schools from across the state participated in the event. Director Bénédicte Sohier led this year’s event alongside 52 volunteers, including 11 UW interns, 12 UW student volunteers, and 29 UW faculty and staff members. Thank you to everyone who helped make this event possible—your efforts play a vital role in showcasing our programs and strengthening recruitment at UW.
There will be no weekly address next week. Enjoy your weekend and the week ahead!
Sincerely,
Adrienne Freng
