Greetings Staff and Faculty of the College of Arts and Sciences,
Last week I traveled to the Council of Colleges of Arts and Sciences conference. It was good to speak with other college leaders who are facing similar challenges and successes across the country. There were some good discussions, and I always find conferences valuable as they help me remember that we are not alone in the challenges we face.
On Saturday, I attended the UW Showcase and spoke with around 100 prospective students and parents interested in the College of Arts and Sciences. I enjoyed hearing their questions and sharing information about the wide range of programs our college offers. I appreciate everyone who participated in this event to recruit our next class of A&S students.
This week I attended the Governor’s Business Forum. It’s a good opportunity to discuss the value the College of Arts and Sciences brings to our Wyoming business community. The Governor’s keynote addressed the diversification of Wyoming’s economy. Our college is well positioned to support the diversification of the state’s economy, and it will be important for us to tell this story help our students launch their careers.
Thank you for the great work that you do.
Sincerely,
J. Scott Turpen
