Greetings Staff and Faculty of the College of Arts and Sciences,

Tomorrow, Josh Allen—the NFL’s reigning MVP—returns to Laramie, and the whole state is buzzing. It’s a great moment to remember that Josh Allen is a graduate of the College of Arts and Sciences. A&S students go on to do incredible things, and he’s yet another example of the hardworking, creative, team-oriented superstars who come from our college. Welcome home, Josh!

This week was a Board of Trustees meeting, which always brings a flurry of activity. A Notice of Intent for a Criminal Justice Certificate was approved, and that certificate will continue through the approval process. Among many other topics, shared governance was discussed further at the meeting. This has been a challenging topic on our campus, but I am optimistic that we can all learn from these discussions so that our university can work to improve our communication, respect, and trust across campus.

Additionally, for those of you who have not yet seen a copy, Elevations, the College's annual magazine was published earlier this fall. You can take a look at it here.

Next week is Thanksgiving break, and I hope each of you can enjoy some time with family and friends. With the semester drawing to a close, there’s a clear sense of anticipation among the students, staff, and faculty. Keep up the good work and take care of yourself. Happy Thanksgiving.

Sincerely,

J. Scott Turpen
