Greetings Staff and Faculty of the College of Arts & Sciences,

 

This week, I'd like to keep my message simple and have one request. Please encourage your students to join us for the Keith and Thyra Thomson Honors Convocation on Friday, September 25, at 2 p.m. in the Arts & Sciences Auditorium, as we celebrate our College of Arts & Sciences honor roll students.

 

Events like the A&S Honors Convocation remind us why a university experience matters. The A&S community is shaped not only by what happens in our classrooms, but also by the moments when we come together. This is an opportunity to celebrate our students and recognize their hard work and persistence, and I hope you will be there to celebrate with them. Our presence sends a simple message that we are proud of our students and invested in their success. Please join me in sharing that message by encouraging your students to attend and being there to celebrate alongside them.

 

 This year's program will feature remarks from President Shane Reeves and a keynote address by Ari Kelman, Professor of History at the University of California, Davis. Professor Kelman’s remarks promise to be engaging.

 

This event belongs to our students. Please join me in celebrating their achievements and helping make this a memorable occasion for them and their families.
