Dr. Laura Franqui Dominguez was born in Manati, a town in the north of Puerto Rico with beautiful mountains and beaches.  She grew up in a rural neighborhodd surrounded by pineapple fields and families who passed on to her a passion for animals and plants.  She was raised by Norberto and Gilda who are passionate about serving the underserved communities in Puerto Rico and other countries, and decided she wanted to become a missionary doctor to help those without healthcare.  She embarked on her adventure of becoming a physician at the University of Puerto Rico - Mayaguez as an undergraduate where she finished a double major in Biology and Microbiology.  After undergrad years, she started a master in professional studies where she completed in 2020.  While studying medicine at San Juan Bautista School of Medicine she had the opportunity of serving in Iraq, Cameroon and Honduras.  Her career interests include full spectrum Family Medicine, Maternal and Child Health, Global Health and patient advocacy.  When she is not working or studying she enjoys journaling, painting, singing, gardening and going on road trips to see new places.  She is very excited to be doing residency in Wyoming where she explores the outdoors with her husband, Alessandro, and her dog, Nakia.
