Rick Fisher is the director of Communication Across the Curriculum. He completed his undergraduate and graduate degrees at UW (BA in English/Secondary Education, MA in Composition and Rhetoric, and PhD in Literacy Education). Rick teaches courses in academic writing, technical writing, and Writing Studies. His scholarly interests include disciplinary literacy, genre studies, and Writing Across the Curriculum (WAC). In terms of faculty development, his areas of expertise include developing communication assignments, providing feedback to students, adopting a process-based approach to writing and communication projects, and promoting views of literacy and writing that extend beyond traditional print texts.
