FALL 2024 ASSESSMENT

Fall 2022 Assessment Guidelines

For instructors of COM Courses:

For Fall 2022, please report assessment of four student submissions for one of your assignments. (If you teach more than one COM course, you need only complete this assessment for one course of your choosing.)

Here is an overview of the process:

1. 1. From any single communication-intensive assignment in your course, please gather work of four random students. (My random number generator suggests students 2, 3, 13, and 15.)
  2. Assess the student work against the VALUE rubric for written or oral communication. (This rubric is provided within the assessment survey form itself and is also available HERE with additional definitions.)
  3. Complete the assessment survey form (in Qualtrics). For each student, you will be asked to enter a score for five criteria. You will also be asked to provide some basic information about the assignment.

You should be able to complete this process in five to 30 minutes (depending primarily on how long the student work is and how fresh it is in your memory). Please submit your assessment no later than Dec. 23, 2022.
