Black Vine Weevil

This black beetle has yellow hairs on its wing covers, or elytra. It won't fly away when disturbed. Instead, it tends to fall to the ground. Look for notched feeding on plant leaves. Occasionally, increased numbers merit treatment, but this is rare. It isn't a serious pest and is an accidental in the home.
