Curriculum Vitae
Ginger Paige

The main focus of my extension programs is to work with watershed groups across the state and region to improve water quality monitoring and assessment. In addition, I work on several water-related projects across the region, including evaluation of the impacts of energy development on soil and water resources and improved implementation of hydrologic instrumentation within the state. My research program is focused on rangeland watershed hydrology and the impacts of land use on water resources and water quality. I conduct watershed research on the measurement and modeling of surface water processes and how these processes change with scale.

Research Interests

  • Watershed and rangeland hydrology
  • Measurement and modeling hydrologic processes
  • Watershed and landuse management decision tools
  • Effects of fire on rangeland hydrologic and erosion processes
  • Characterization of soil hydraulic properties
  • Soil moisture measurement
  • Ecological site characterization and monitoring

teaching

My teaching program is primarily devoted to graduate education. I also give guest lectures on Decision Support Tools and how to use them effectively in Rangeland Management.

International Activities/Service and Outreach

My Extension and outreach activities are focused on the development of approaches and tools for “effective” water quality monitoring programs.
