Ecosystem Science and Management
Assistant Professor

My research focuses on developing sustainable nutrient management strategies to enhance soil health, productivity, and ecosystem services in Wyoming’s rangeland and agricultural systems. I apply ecological stoichiometry to investigate the ratios of carbon, nitrogen, phosphorus, and other essential nutrients (C:N:P:X) in vegetation, soil, and microbial communities, and how these elemental balances regulate ecosystem processes, nutrient cycling, and plant productivity. My work integrates field trials, biogeochemical analysis, and soil health assessment across diverse land use systems to evaluate the impacts of management practices on soil function and sustainability. I also collaborate with producers, extension professionals, and conservation agencies to translate research findings into regionally relevant strategies through selected on-farm trials and outreach activities.
