Events and Activities

The University of Wyoming Geological Museum offers a dynamic calendar of events and activities designed to engage visitors of all ages with the wonders of Earth and life sciences. Each year, the museum hosts signature outreach events like our ‘Wyoming Rocks’ and ‘Fossil Fish Festival’ in both the fall and spring, welcoming the community to explore geology through hands-on activities, educational exhibits, and family-friendly fun. In addition to these seasonal celebrations, the museum occasionally presents public talks by visiting scientists, exhibit opening receptions, and special events to mark the installation of new displays. These programs provide unique opportunities to connect with cutting-edge research, explore Wyoming’s natural history, and celebrate the museum’s ongoing contributions to science education and outreach.
