Gender and Women’s Studies offers students an interdisciplinary exploration of the issues of sex, gender and sexuality. As a stand-alone degree, or as a minor to enhance another area of study, a Gender and Women’s Studies Degree offers unique perspectives gender identities as they intersect with other social constructs.
The Graduate Minor in Gender and Women’s Studies provides advanced feminist training for students from a variety of academic backgrounds and career paths. Students who participate in this graduate minor will likely consider master’s and doctoral research projects linked to topics in Gender and Women’s Studies while developing expertise in the area.
The Queer Studies program draws upon the strengths of various departments to introduce both undergraduate and graduate students to the history, theory, and practice of the study of sexuality with an emphasis on gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered and queer lives. The minor recognizes competency in gender identities.
