Stakeholder Assessment

Wyoming Community Needs Around Changing Economic, Energy, and Environmental Conditions

The Ruckelshaus Institute is conducting a series of interviews to assess stakeholder perceptions of the changing energy economy and community needs around this issue. The objective is to learn how Wyoming communities understand and see themselves taking part in the energy, climate, and economic changes that are happening in our state and to identify ways the Ruckelshaus Institute might support their efforts.

The project aims to understand stakeholder perspectives on:

  1. effective Wyoming community-based approaches for climate planning and adaptation amid a changing energy economy; and
  2. whether and how Wyoming communities might respond to new opportunities and incentives tied to clean energy and emissions reduction, such as those in the Inflation Reduction Act.

Researchers will conduct semi-structured interviews with relevant community stakeholders within and beyond Wyoming to assess broad community climate action planning efforts and needs. This research will inform scholarly, published research products; internal Ruckelshaus Institute program development to support statewide stakeholders; and public-facing outreach materials.

Check back here for a publicly available report sharing the findings once the project is complete in 2023.
