40th Anniversary Reunion

Get ready for an unforgettable celebration! The University of Wyoming’s Summer High School Institute (HSI) is turning 40, and we’re inviting you to join in the excitement. Since the summer of 1985, HSI has been bringing incoming high school juniors from across Wyoming to get a taste of college life at UW by living in the dorms and taking college-like courses. Scholars have participated in a large variety of STEM and humanities courses over the years. While attending HSI, students also experienced many unforgettable adventures in and outside of Laramie creating everlasting memories.

We've been eagerly preparing for the HSI 40th Anniversary Reunion, originally planned for July 18-20, 2025, in Laramie. Our theme, 40 and Fruity: 40 Years Under the HSI Apple Tree, reflects the joy and community we've built together over four decades. However, due to a lower-than-expected number of registrations, we've made the difficult decision to shift the reunion from an in-person weekend to a virtual format. While we're disappointed not to gather in person, we're committed to creating a vibrant, meaningful virtual event where alumni from all years can reconnect and celebrate HSI's legacy- no matter where you are.

Please join us for the virtual HSI 40th Reunion on Saturday, July 19th, via Zoom. (Registration link below.) We are so excited to welcome alumni from all years back to reconnect, reflect, and celebrate everything HSI has meant to us.

In the meantime, we'd love your help spreading the word! Help us spread the word about the reunion by sharing our social media posts and being an HSI Ambassador. An Ambassador will help us reach out to their HSI years and encourage them to attend the reunion. If you're interested in being an HSI Ambassador, follow this link to express your interest.

Though the format has changed, our enthusiasm hasn't. We're looking forward to revisiting the memories, friendships, and stories that have defined HSI over the past 40 years - and we can't wait to share that celebration with you!

This is a free event open to HSI alumni, facutly and staff.

Guests or members of the public attending an HSI events who would like additional information about the HSI event, please email hsi@uwyo.edu.

We have partnered with Laramie based Rocky Mountain Shirtworks to bring you an HSI Store for the 40th Reunion! There is merchandise that ranges from general HSI apparel to 40th specific items. You can see some of the items available in the store in the image slider.

The store is currently closed but will open back up in July if you missed it in April. When the store opens again, you'll have the same amazing HSI merchandise options with the same delivery options (mail or pick up in Laramie).
