RESEARCH INTERESTS

Teaching/Training of students in scientific disciplines foundational to health care, including anatomy, professional development skills, and clinical exercise physiology. Physical activity behavioral modification in the primary and secondary prevention of heart disease, obesity, and chronic diseases in children and adults. Translation and integration of exercise and aging research into community settings. Functional strength training in older adults to maintain activities of daily living and prevent falls. Exercise programming for special populations.  Blue Zones of the world.
