The Center partners with the University of Wyoming School of Energy Resources, the College of Business, and the Haub School of Environment and Natural Resources to provide natural resources, environmental, and energy-related learning opportunities for students. It also offers faculty-supervised research projects.
The JD/MBA (Master of Business Administration) Program features a well-rounded and distinguished group of faculty members, along with on-site experiential learning. The dual program is offered with a General MBA, MBA with Energy Management Concentration, or MBA in Energy Management.
The JD/MA in Environment and Natural Resources Program offers a combined degree in law, environment, and natural resources. Students in this innovative and interdisciplinary program are trained to identify the quantitative and qualitative aspects of resource problems, navigate complex stakeholder networks, relate to future clients, and solve problems.
The Natural Resource Law Club (NRLC) provides students with a forum for discussing hot topics in natural resources and engaging in cutting-edge research projects. The Club also hosts outdoor adventures like skiing and camping trips, as well as service projects and guest speakers on environmental and natural resources topics.
Davis & Cannon Natural Resources Law Moot Court Competition
Students with an interest in Energy and Natural Resources law have the opportunity to participate in the National Energy Moot Court Competition. Interested students first compete in the intra-school competition sponsored by the Wyoming law firm of Davis & Cannon, LLP. The top teams then advance to the national competition. This competition provides students the opportunity to hone their skills in appellate advocacy and develop their expertise in energy, while competing with students on a national stage.
National Environmental Law Moot Court Competition
As a complement to the National Energy Moot Court competition, students also have the opportunity to participate in the National Environmental Moot Court competition. Students participating in this competition are afforded the opportunity to gain practical experience by arguing an environmental case from the perspective of the government, industry and the public interest.
"The classes that I took from the Haub School of Environment and Natural Resources forced me to look at energy issues from a different perspective. ENR takes students from diverse areas of study and creates an academic setting which focuses on solving complex energy/natural resource issues with science and the collaborative process."
