Business Planning

2025-2026 Student Practicum Director: Isabelle Cruz

I grew up in Sarasota, Florida, but moved to Sheridan, Wyoming when I was 13. After finishing high school, I stayed in-state and earned my bachelor’s degree in business economics with an accompanying minor in business management from the University of Wyoming in 2023. During my undergraduate studies, I also had the opportunity to complete part of my degree at EM Strasbourg Business School in Strasbourg, France, where I focused on international strategy, business management, human resources, and global supply chains. This experience broadened my perspective on the global business landscape and deepened my interest in how local economies connect to broader international systems.

Growing up in a small business-owning family, I developed a strong appreciation for entrepreneurship early on. That perspective has only deepened as I’ve come to value the small-town, community-driven spirit that defines life in Wyoming.

Coming to law school, I knew I wanted to focus on the intersection of law and business. Some of the most meaningful experiences I’ve had at the University of Wyoming College of Law include serving as one of the managers of the PLC Bookstore, a student-run small business, and working with Professor George Mocsary on research exploring how blockchain technology could reshape our legal and regulatory frameworks.

Throughout law school, I’ve been committed to understanding the legal structures and policies that shape local economies and support businesses across the state. That commitment is what makes it such an honor to serve as the Student Director of the Business Planning Practicum. After graduation, I plan to stay in Wyoming and put my legal and business training to work in service of the community that has shaped me.
