Prosecution Assistance Program
2025-2026 Student Clinic Director: Banaz Wadi
Banaz Wadi moved to Laramie during high school, where she quickly came to appreciate the unique way of life compared to her hometown of Columbus, Ohio. Banaz grew to appreciate the close-knit community in Laramie that ultimately inspired her to stay and build a career in Wyoming.
Banaz completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) at the University of Wyoming. During her undergraduate studies, she earned a competitive spot in the VALOR program and gained invaluable experience working at the Cheyenne VA Medical Center.
Pursuing her passion for advocacy, Banaz entered the University of Wyoming College of Law. After her first year, she was selected for a summer internship with the Colorado Access to Justice Commission, where she worked on initiatives designed to expand access to legal resources in underserved communities.
After her second year of law school, Banaz interned with the criminal division at the United States Attorney’s Office for the district of Wyoming, where she worked on federal prosecutions and represented the United States Government in court. The experience deepened her resolve to pursue a career in prosecution and further solidified her interest in criminal justice reform and public service.
As Student Director of the Prosecution Assistance Program, Banaz is focused on developing the next generation of student prosecutors. She is committed to strengthening partnerships with prosecutors across the state and ensuring that students graduate from the clinic not only with real courtroom experience but as student leaders with a strong foundation of legal skills. As she looks ahead to graduation, Banaz is eager to continue her work as a prosecutor—dedicated to making a meaningful impact in the lives of victims, communities, and the justice system.
