Family Child Legal Advocacy Clinic
2026-2027 Student Clinic Director: Brian Baldwin
I was born and raised in Aurora, Illinois. After developing an interest in hiking and snowboarding, I knew I wanted to live closer to the Rocky Mountains, which led me to the University of Colorado Boulder.
After graduation, I worked as a Judicial Assistant in Golden, Colorado doing mostly family law cases while also gaining experience in juvenile law. Working closely with a magistrate gave me a better understanding of the legal system and showed me the impact attorneys can have on families and children.
After two years, I chose to attend the University of Wyoming College of Law because of its affordability and the opportunities to gain hands on experience. I joined the Family and Child Legal Advocacy Clinic during the spring of my 2L year, and it has taught me more about practicing law than I could have imagined. Learning from Professor Dona Playton and former Student Director Haley Rockwell has been an especially meaningful part of my experience.
As Student Director, I am excited to support my fellow students and help provide our clients with compassionate and effective legal advocacy.
After graduation, I plan to return to Colorado and pursue a career helping families and children who need affordable legal assistance.
