best practical training

The University of Wyoming College of Law has been ranked in the top tier of best law schools for practical training by  PreLaw Magazine and The National Jurist. With six legal clinics: Legal Services,  Domestic Violence, Defender Aid,  Prosecution Assistance, Energy, Environmental and Natural Resources, and  International Human Rights, as well as an  Estate Planning Practicum, Wyoming has a clinic guarantee that every student will have the opportunity to practice law before graduation.

In addition to the clinical programs at Wyoming, the College of Law offers opportunities for hands-on training including  two natural resource field courses,  externship and internship opportunities, and faculty supervised research projects housed in one of the four Centers; the  Center Law & Energy Resources in the Rockies (CLERR), the  Rural Law Center, the  Center for the Study of Written Advocacy and the  Center for International Human Rights Law and Advocacy.

The college seeks to continue to develop distinction as a national leader in integrative education and move up in the rankings. By building on its strong tradition of providing robust practical skills training in conjunction with a firm theoretical grounding, the College of Law will remain a leader in the nation for training lawyers ready to practice immediately upon graduation.

The recognition as a top law school for practical training comes soon after the UW College of Law being ranked 9 th in the nation for  Best Value Law Schools by  PreLaw Magazine.
