    Library Services for Alumni

The George W. Hopper Law Library encourages University of Wyoming College of Law alumni to return to the library to use our print and electronic resources on site.

Register at the circulation desk to check out library print resources.  Our collection is accessible through QuickSearch. Our treatises, legal periodicals, and leisure materials may be checked out for up to four weeks. Reserves and audio visual materials may be checked out for a limited time.

For online materials, take a seat at a reference computer to access legal research databases such as Westlaw Campus Research, HeinOnline, and others from our databases webpage.  You may also use your laptop to connect to many of our library databases using our wireless access.  Just enter in a valid email address when prompted by the wireless network.

Our librarians and staff welcome your visit.  We can also be contacted by email at lawref@uwyo.edu or by calling the library at 307-766-2210.

Post-graduation access to Lexis Advance and Westlaw

Lexis Advance offer graduates unrestricted access for 6 months following graduation.  No special registration is required, though Lexis users are directed to their graduate webpage for additional options and rewards.

Westlaw offers graduates access through their Grad Elite program.  Registered students will retain Westlaw access for 6 months.

Continued access to HeinOnline and other legal research databases

The law library subscribes to HeinOnline’s alumni program, which provides access to the full law journal collection to our UW law school graduates. Alumni access does not expire.  We are happy to provide alumni with a username and password following a request by email or phone call.

    GoWYLD

GoWYLD provides residents with a Wyoming library card access to databases and other resources that support research, lifelong learning, business and career development, personal enrichment, and more.  Visit the Legal Resources page to view the legal databases currently offered through this program.

GoWYLD is made possible with funding from the State of Wyoming, The Institute of Museum & Library Services, and cooperative agreements between libraries of all types in Wyoming including public libraries, the University of Wyoming, and the Wyoming Community Colleges.

    eLangdell

CALI, the Center for Computer-Assisted Legal Instruction, provides freely available, peer-reviewed casebooks through eLangdell® Press. This collection includes Professor Michael Duff's work, A Treatise of Wyoming Workers' Compensation Law along with numerous books in other specializations.

    Continuing Legal Education resources

The law library has a collection of CLE materials in audio and video format. If you do a keyword search in the library catalog for CLE self-study you can browse through the available CLEs. If you live outside of Laramie and would like to borrow an item, contact us at lawref@uwyo.edu or call 307-766-2210. If you have questions about whether a CLE would qualify you for CLE credits, contact the Wyoming State Bar.
