Biography
David Riedl is an assistant lecturer for the LeaRN program. He teaches composition, rhetoric, and human culture courses, primarily for first-year students at the University of Wyoming. David is particularly interested in narratives and representations of the American West in popular media, and he is passionate about non-traditional forms of academic production. Before joining the LeaRN program in 2023, David studied English Rhetoric and Composition at UW and produced a master's thesis titled "How the West was Won"—a non-traditional, public facing project comprised of original songs, artwork, narratives, and critical essays. In a past life, he worked as a fly-fishing guide, Nordic and back country ski instructor, and ranch hand near Steamboat Springs, Colorado. He currently coaches indoor and outdoor track and field at Laramie High School and spends the rest of his free time fixing up his 100-year-old home near downtown Laramie.
