What are your plans after graduation?: “Find a big-girl job and spend more time on hobbies.”
What are some of your hobbies or things you enjoy doing outside of the library?: “I love to craft, knit, sew, paint, everything. I also love to read. I am usually
reading at least one book.”
How long have you worked at the library?: “I have worked at the library for 3 years.”
What is your role here at the library?: “I am a student supervisor down at the help/circulation desk.”
Why did you start working here?: “I had previously worked as a ceramic's assistant at the art building, but I wanted
a job closer to campus that would allow me to interact with people more. I have always
liked reading, and my mom also works for the public library in Cheyenne, so I thought
I would try it, too. I knew it was going to be a quieter and easy-going place to work,
which seemed like a good fit for my schedule and personality type. It was a great
choice on my part because it is my favorite job ever!”
What is your favorite memory working here?: “I think our silly and outrageous conversations are my favorite memories. The sudden
switch of staff and students pausing a heated conversation to help someone is jarring
but is also what makes it that much funnier. Especially during finals week when we
are open until midnight, but we are all so tired that conversations get a little loopy!
I've had plenty of other good memories, like posing for the podcast booth media and
recording a dumb little podcast or hosting a tea party and Christmas party for the
help desk. It is all a time I cherish.”
Lexx Ferrin, Jazz Performance
Lexx Ferrin
Area of Study: Jazz Performance
What are your plans after graduation?: “To move to Oregon with my friends and get working as a musician. Also, possibly
go for my master's in jazz performance or library sciences.”
What are some of your hobbies or things you enjoy doing outside of the library?: “Practice guitar, play video games, bike/skateboarding, and hang out with friends.”
How long have you worked at the library?: “3-4 years.”
What is your role here at the library?: “Front desk assistant in special collections.”
Why did you start working here?: “Cass Kvenild the dean of the library asked if I had work study and I told her I wasn’t
sure. She told me to look into my FAFSA and if I did, they might have a position at
the library. The rest was history.”
What is your favorite memory working here?: “When David Kruger said clutch or some of the many events held here like the ones
they do for finals week.”

What are your plans after graduation? “I plan to resume work in Thermopolis Wyoming. I have a job offer at a museum there,

What are some of your hobbies or things you enjoy doing outside of the library? “I enjoy silly crafts, sudoku, reading, cleaning and organizing things.”
How long have you worked at the library? “I began work in the Fall semester of 2023.”
What is your role here at the library? “I work at the Geology Library. I am responsible for working at the help desk and
reshelving. In addition, Geology oversees the Library Annex, and as such I retrieve
requests, complete ILL requests, and perform other tasks there as well”
Why did you start working here? “I began work here due to my love of books and libraries. I chose the Geology Library
because of the close-knit staff community.”
What is your favorite memory working here? “My favorite memory from the job has to be the staff lunches that Enid hosted for
us at the end of each semester. It was amazing getting to form closer relationships
with the Geology staff and learn more about my coworkers.”

not very good), and some at-home hobbies like reading and gaming.”
How long have you worked at the library? “I started at the library in the fall semester of 2022.”
What is your role here at the library? “I work as a student supervisor at the front desk.”

academic environment as I work. Everyone is super friendly, and I love to stay involved
in the library events and new research updates.”
What is your favorite memory working here? “I love all of the random crafts we do for the breakroom: designing myself as an American
Girl Doll, drawing an animal for the zoo, and the most recent breakroom farm are some
of the highlights for these.”

How long have you worked at the library? “5 years.”
What is your role here at the library? “Circulation desk, student supervisor”
Why did you start working here? “I started working at the Coe Library help desk in June after my freshman year at
UW. Although I’ve always loved reading, I didn’t do much of it in high school. But
after joining the library staff, my passion for books was rekindled”
What is your favorite thing about working here? “The sense of community here is unlike anything I’ve experienced before. My coworkers
and supervisors are some of the kindest and most supportive people I’ve met at the
university, making this job even more meaningful. I’m incredibly grateful for this
experience, and I have no doubt that my time at the library will benefit me in the
future.”
We also want to say congratulations to Marie Lawson, Annabelle Pierson, Katie Prochonow
and Jessi Schroeder who are all graduating this spring.
