Amanda Bugbee

Discovery Librarian

Biography:
Amanda Bugbee is the Discovery Librarian at the University of Wyoming Libraries. In
this role, she manages, configures, and coordinates the Libraries' discovery platforms
to ensure access to materials and a streamlined discovery experience for users, while
devising solutions that improve discovery based on observed data and analytics. Her
current research interests include the integration of visual arts into library discovery
services, and the relationships between knowledge organization and identity within
visual culture. She also has interests in nineteenth- and twentieth-century art, and
American museum history and patronage.
She holds a dual Master of Library Science with a specialization in Art Librarianship,
and Master of Arts in Art History with a focus on nineteenth-century American art
from Indiana University-Bloomington. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Art History,
with Museum Studies and History minors from the University of Wyoming.
Outside of work, Amanda enjoys trying new recipes, walking her dogs, painting, and
watching old films. She also considers herself a dissectologist.
