The Studio Coe video-recording space can be used to practice, record, and critique student classroom presentations. The space is located in Coe 206 and available to all current University of Wyoming students, staff, and faculty to record video. Reserve the video-recording space:

Studio Coe video-recording space policies:

Video editing is an important part of the video production process. After you record your raw video in the space, there is assistance available with video-editing in Studio Coe (Coe 237), located right beside the Coe Maker space. Drop in any time we're open (Studio Coe hours) to work on your project and/or gain assistance while editing from our staff - no reservation required! We're happy to help!

Quick Start Guide

Check Out the Studio Key

  • Visit the Help Desk at the start of your reservation.

  • Present your WyoOne ID card to check out the key and accessories.

Record your video(s) in the Studio

  • Use a USB drive with plenty of space. (4 GB is recommended --1 GB = approximately 10-15 minutes of video footage)

  • Insert drive into the USB dock.

  • Turn on the camera.

  • Open the Black Magic software program with the desktop icon.

  • Click on the CAPTURE tab to start/stop recording.

  • Note: mute the sound bar (if in use) while recording to eliminate the feedback noise.

  • Review your video using the PC.

When finished recording, go to the PC desktop and drag your video files from the OUTPUT folder to your flash drive.

IMPORTANT:  TO AVOID THE POSSIBILITY OF ACCIDENTALLY OVERWRITING YOUR FILES, IMMEDIATELY RENAME YOUR VIDEO FILES.

  • Optional - Use the PC workstation to transfer recordings to your University network storage.

Shut down the Studio

  • Shut down equipment and DO NOT log off workstations at the end of your session.

  • Turn off the main Studio lights and camera.

  • Return the Studio key and accessories to the Help Desk.

Video Creation Resources

Studio Coe also has a sound recording booth and music creation software such as GarageBand and MainStage to if you wish to create your music and/or sound effects!
