Chat with a Librarian
Connect with a librarian 7 days a week. Available hours vary by day, and this service may not be available during university holidays and closures. Students may also Text a Librarian from Monday to Friday.
Library Coaches
Library Coaches can help you with your research questions, both online or in-person. They are students like you, and are prepared to help you find quality information. This service is available for undergraduate students.

University of Wyoming students have 24-hour access to online resources both on and off-campus. Our online research guides are tailored to help you find resources for specific subjects and classes.
Research Databases
UW Libraries subscribes to a large number of amazing broad or discipline specific databases which can be used to find e-books, articles, primary sources, streaming media, art, and more.

Access Materials
Current students with a WyoOne card can access physical materials held in Coe Library, Geology Library, LRC, and the Library Annex. Policies regarding borrowing books and other materials are available here. Most checked out items are renewed automatically, and we will email you when they should be returned.
Students can request materials to be pulled and held at the library branch of their choice through the Hold For Me service. You will be notified by email when requests are ready to pick up.
To access materials outside of the Libraries collections, multiple services are available at no cost:
Interlibrary Loan (ILL): request books, media, journal articles, and other materials worldwide.
Prospector: request books, media, journal articles, and other materials from over 200 academic, public, and special libraries in Colorado.

Course Reserves
Course Reserves are located on the Readings and Resources tab in your WyoCourses course shell. Libraries electronic resources can be accessed directly from the Readings and Resources tab. Physical library materials will indicate if they are held at the Help Desk at Coe Library or Geology Library.

Streaming video and audio collections are available for free through UW Libraries databases.
Spaces in the Libraries
Study Spaces
Coe Library and the Geology Library offer both quiet and group study spaces. Levels 3 and 4 of Coe Library are designated as quiet study. Groups study floors are located on levels 1, 2, and 5. Reservable Study Rooms are available at both Coe and Geology Libraries. Find an out-of-the-way spot in The Emmett D. Chisum Special Collections Reading Room or The Alma Doke McMurry Reading Room.
Computer Labs
Students have access to over 100 lab computers and docking stations throughout Coe and Geology Libraries, as well as access to computer labs and printing services across campus.
Information on other services provided by UW Libraries, such as copying and scanning, laptops and iPads, computer labs, and more, is available here.
Digital Scholarship Center
Digital Scholarship Center, located in Coe Library, Rm 302, aims to assist the University of Wyoming community as they extend traditional methods of research and teaching using new media and digital technologies.
By providing expertise, technology, and space for these endeavors, Digital Scholarship will support faculty, staff, and students as they become more digital, entrepreneurial, interdisciplinary, and inclusive.
Creation + Collaboration Spaces
Coe Library houses creative and collaboration spaces, Coe Student Innovation Center (Coe SIC), a UWIN Makerspace Lab, and Studio Coe.
Studio Coe provides access to and support for various Adobe programs (Photoshop, Illustrator, Animate), game development and virtual reality software (Visual Studio Code, Unity, Blender).
The equipment in the Coe SIC supports 3D printing and scanning; sewing, embroidery, vinyl cutting, and more.
Collections + Materials
UW Libraries is home to several digital repositories, including various digital collections, research data, and scholarly outputs.
Emmett D. Chisum Special Collections primarily holds printed publications related to the American West from the late 19th century to the present.
Coe Library houses numerous physical collections, including the Popular Reading and DVD/Blu-ray collections. These collections are located in Coe Library, Level 1.
