Laser scanning confocal microscope (Zeiss 980)
* A fully motorized inverted microscope (Axio Observer 7 with definite focus 2)
* Objectives include:
- EC Plan-NEOFLUAR 2.5x/0.085 WD=8.8mm;
- EC Plan-Neofluar 10x/0.30 WD=5.2
- Plan-Apo 20x/0.8 FWD=0.55mm
- Plan-Apo 40x/1.2 Imm Corr DIC M27 for water, silicon oil or glycerine immersion
- Plan-Apochromat 63x/1.40 Oil DIC
* Lasers include: 405, 488, 514, 561 and 639 nm, all solid state
* Detectors including two fluorescence PMTs, one transmitted PMT and one GaAsP detector
* AiryScan 2 with multiplex capacity. It offers higher sensitivity, higher speed and higher resolution compared to regular confocal.
* Fluorescence light source (for observation): Solid-State Light Source Colibri 7, equipped with 4 solid state LED lamps.
- Red (630nm) for excitation of Cy5, Alexa 631, TOTO-3 and similar dyes
- Green (555nm) for excitation of Cy3, TRITC, DsRed and similar dyes
- Blue (475nm) for excitation of eGFP, Fluo4, FITC and similar dyes
- UV (385nm) for excitation of DAPI, Alexa 405, Hoechst 33258 and similar dyes
* An incubation chamber that can control temperature and CO2. This allows for relatively long time live imaging.
* Emission filters for Airyscan include:
- BP 420-475 + BP 500-545
- BP 420-480 + BP 570-630
- BP 420-500 + LP 605
- BP 465-505 + BP 525-585
- BP 495-550 + BP 570-630
- BP 495-560 - LP 660
- BP 570-620 + LP 655
