Modern & Classical Languages
The University of Wyoming’s Department of Modern & Classical Languages (MCL) will
help you see the world through new eyes and gain a wider perspective and appreciation
of people from widely diverse cultures. As a department of foreign languages, literatures,
and cultural studies, we prepare our students for life and careers in an increasingly
global world. Our programs enable students to combine their language training with
interdisciplinary study of the regions where their language is spoken through study-abroad
opportunities in numerous locales. Building a language into your college resumé will
open doors to greatly expanded opportunities and life experiences.
*Note: Additional languages offered in other departments on campus include American Sign Language, Arabic, and the World Language and Culture Program.
