Important Information

Tickets for evening concerts my be purchased at the Fine Arts Box Office. All UW Jazz Festival participants (directors included) may purchase tickets at the $10.00 student price.

School Performance:  ALL student performances and warm-up will take place in the Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts (BCPA). Visit our on-line schedule to find when you perform.  See the campus map for BCPA location.

The Registration Table will be located in the lobby of the Buchanan Center for Performing Arts on the UW campus.

Once registered, a band guide will lead each group to their Warm-up room 30 minutes before their performance.  Each performing group will have a 30-minute warm up.  The warm up room will have chairs, stands, drum set, cymbals, piano, guitar amp, and bass amp. 

Performances will take place in the BCPA Concert Hall and BCPA Recital Hall.  Each school group is allotted 30-minutes on stage ( including set up and tear down).  Once the performance is ended adjudicators will provide an on-stage clinic with any time remaining in the 30-minute slot.  For example, if a group performs for 20 minutes, they will receive approximately a 10-minute clinic.  In this way, the director can choose how much clinic they receive based on how much music is performed.  A 30-minute performance will not receive an on-stage clinic.   Please do not exceed the 30’ limit for performance, set up, and tear down.

All participants will receive recorded comments during the performance from the adjudicators.

After your performance, please pick up your adjudication packet at the Registration Table.

The performance rooms will provide chairs, stands, drum set, cymbals, piano, guitar amp, bass amp, vibraphone (concert hall only), and overall sound reinforcement.  The performance room will not provide patch chords, auxiliary percussion, or electric keyboards.   Drummers may use their own cymbals, but no other equipment may be changed.

This is a non-competitive festival.  All comments and ratings are confidential.

Directors ARE NOT required to provide scores for adjudicators.

Student drop off and pick up will be located in the North parking lot (near the Law Building) of the BCPA.  All bus parking is located at the Free Express Shuttle lot on the East side of Willett Drive near the UW soccer stadium and North of the Bison Run Village Apartments.  There is no bus parking at the venues.  See parking map.

While the Festival will provide a limited amount of storage space for cases and equipment, all attendees are responsible for their own equipment and the UW Jazz Festival and University of Wyoming are not responsible for any lost or stolen items.

If you must cancel in case of an emergency call 307.314.9897 as soon as possible.  Refunds are not available after February 1.
