Virginia Conley
Virginia Conley, assistant professor of nursing at the University of Wyoming, has won the 2008 American Academy of Nurse Practitioners' (AANP) State Award for Excellence for Wyoming.
Conley, whose research interests include end-of-life issues, health communication and rural health care, has worked at the Fay W. Whitney School of Nursing for six years. She has taught undergraduate, graduate and accelerated courses and coordinated the university's Family Nurse Practitioner program for the past two years.
"I am very honored to receive the AANP award, and especially so because nominations and recommendations for this award come from one's peers," Conley says. "I am also pleased that my receiving this award reflects well on my work as a faculty member in the Family Nurse Practitioner Program at the University of Wyoming."
The AANP state awards recognize a nurse practitioner in each state who demonstrates excellence in practice, research, education and community affairs. Conley will be recognized at the AANP national conference in June at National Harbor, Md.
