Faculty Recital Series Continues Sunday with Jazz Pianist Ben Markley

Jazz faculty pianist Ben Markley will perform Sunday, Oct. 28, at 3 p.m. in the University of Wyoming Fine Arts concert hall. The performance is free and open to the public.

Part of the Department of Music Faculty Recital Series, the concert will feature guests Jim Pisano on tenor saxophone, Matt Smiley on bass and Ed Breazeale on drums.

Nationally known for his lively, creative performances, Markley has toured in North America and Latin America as a performer and teacher. Originally from Kansas, he has studied in the Midwest, New York City and, most recently, Boulder, Colo., where he earned a Doctor of Musical Arts degree. Markley is currently an instructor of jazz piano at UW and Colorado State University.
