Tim Robinson
The American Society for Quality (ASQ) has awarded fellow status to Timothy Robinson, a professor in the University of Wyoming Department of Statistics.
Fellow status recognizes members for “achieving distinction and pre-eminence in the technology, theory, education, application or management of quality control.”
Robinson was selected for “outstanding contributions in advancing quality in environmental and ecological monitoring, and for significant research contributions in design of experiments and robust parameter design, and as a trainer of statistical thinking to a wide variety of disciplines.”
"ASQ Fellows are leaders in the quality movement, making quality a personal ethic, an organizational imperative and a global priority," says ASQ Chairman John Timmerman. "As Fellows, ASQ acknowledges their tremendous contribution to quality and their commitment to making the world we live in better through quality."
According to ASQ bylaws, Fellow membership status is awarded to members who have at least 15 years of quality-related experience and achieve requirements across six professional categories, among other criteria.
Robinson’s research interests at UW include design of experiments, response surface methodology, categorical data analysis and applications in engineering, medicine and the environment. He received a Ph.D. in statistics at Virginia Tech in 1997.
