The Student Activities Council and the University of Wyoming Outdoor Program will host the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour Wednesday, Feb. 17, and Thursday, Feb. 18, at 7 p.m. in the UW College of Arts and Sciences auditorium. The event is free and open to the public, and is sponsored by the Student Activities Council.
The Banff Mountain Film Festival began small, reaching only three cities in Canada. In 1986, the festival began an outreach program bringing its films to other communities to show. The organizers’ objective was to share the talent of the world’s finest mountain filmmakers to larger audiences.
Today, the tour brings mountain films to thousands of people who cannot make the annual trek to the Canadian Rockies.
