The University of Wyoming’s Enhanced Oil Recovery Institute (EORI) has hired a petroleum industry veteran to assist with the institute’s technical outreach efforts.
Lon Whitman developed and led outreach efforts for EORI from 2005-2011. Since leaving the institute, he has built a private consulting company, Premier Oil Recovery in Casper, focusing on enhanced and improved oil recovery and residual oil zone development.
Whitman, of Casper, is a UW graduate with a degree in petroleum engineering. He will work from EORI’s Casper office. His technical outreach efforts will include corporate outreach, project development and relationship development.
After developing the institute’s successful Minnelusa Consortium during his previous tenure at EORI, Whitman will advance the institute’s technical outreach model of consortia by soliciting members, ideas and areas of focus for EORI. He will be EORI’s representative at industry and trade association meetings.
Whitman may be reached at eoribiz@uwyo.edu or by phone at (307) 315-6441 (office) or (307) 760-0577 (cell). His address is 2435 King Blvd., Room B 49, Casper, 82604.
As one of the Centers of Excellence in UW’s School of Energy Resources, the EORI facilitates meaningful and measureable increases in recoverable reserves, and production of oil and natural gas in Wyoming that may otherwise not be realized. For more information, go to www.uwyo.edu/eori/.
