University of Wyoming Calendar for Jan. 28

These are among the activities scheduled Jan. 28-Feb. 3 at the University of Wyoming:

Monday, Jan. 28 -- Spring semester classes begin.

Tuesday, Jan. 29, 7 p.m. -- UW Planetarium show, “Distant Worlds -- Alien Life?” Tickets cost $3 for students and $4 for non-students, Physical Sciences Building basement. Advance tickets are available in the Physical Sciences Building, Room 204, or by going online at www.uwyo.edu/physics/ and clicking on “Planetarium Schedule.”

Wednesday, Jan. 30, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. -- The UW Campus Activities Center will host the Winter Club and Organization Fair in the Wyoming Union breezeway and the Fireplace Lounge. Free.

Wednesday, Jan. 30, 7 p.m. -- Cowboy basketball vs. Fresno State University, Arena-Auditorium. Ticket prices vary.

Wednesday, Jan. 30, 7:30 p.m. -- The UW Department of Music presents clarinet-guitar duo Jâca in the Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts recital hall. Free.

Thursday, Jan. 31, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. -- The Black History 101 Mobile Museum will be on display in the Wyoming Union breezeway. Free.

Thursday, Jan. 31, 3-5 p.m. -- The UW Center for Student Involvement and Leadership’s grand opening will take place in the Wyoming Union Fireplace Lounge. Free.

Thursday, Jan. 31, 4-6 p.m. -- A meet-and-greet reception for Khalid el-Hakim, the Black History 101 Mobile Museum founder, will take place in the Centennial Complex lobby. Free.

Thursday, Jan. 31, 7 p.m. -- StudioWYO presents local musicians J Shogren Shanghai’d and Matthew Wilburn Skinner in The Gardens, located in the lower level of the Wyoming Union. Free.

Friday, Feb. 1, 6:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. -- The 7220 Entertainment Films Committee will screen “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald” in the Wyoming Union Family Room. Free.

Friday, Feb. 1, 7 p.m. -- UW Planetarium show, “The Weird, Bizarre and Stranger Things of Space.” The STAR Observatory on the rooftop of the Physical Sciences Building will be open to the public from 8-9:30 p.m.  Tickets cost $3 for students and $4 for non-students, Physical Sciences Building basement. Advance tickets are available in the Physical Sciences Building, Room 204, or by going online at www.uwyo.edu/physics/ and clicking on “Planetarium Schedule.”

Saturday, Feb. 2, 7:30 p.m. -- The UW Department of Music presents guest pianist Brooks Hafey in the Performing Arts recital hall. Free.

Saturday, Feb. 2, 9 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. -- The 7220 Entertainment Films Committee will screen “Molly’s Game” in the Wyoming Union Family Room. Free.

Sunday, Feb. 3, 1 p.m. -- UW’s Exercise is Medicine On Campus presents “Walk with a Doc” in War Memorial Fieldhouse. Free.

Sunday, Feb. 3, noon-3 p.m. -- As part of the UW-sponsored Martin Luther King Jr. Days of Dialogue, an open poster making session for the Feb. 4 march and rally will take place at 7th Street Studio, located at the Laramie Plains Civic Center, 710 E. Garfield St. Enter through the red doors off Seventh Street. Free.
