A “Training the Trainer: Keep It Real Diverse” workshop is scheduled Thursday, Feb. 6, at the University of Wyoming.
The UW Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion will offer the session from 9 a.m.-noon in Room 506 of Coe Library. The session is open to faculty, staff and students.
The session will teach participants how to use a board game to facilitate difficult conversations in classrooms and staff/faculty meetings, or use as a team-building exercise. The “Keep It Real Game” also is a tool for students to engage in meaningful dialogue focused on social justice in a nonthreatening format, and it is helpful in building community.
“This game fosters authentic interpersonal communication and community building,” says Emily Monago, UW chief diversity officer. “Participants will gain access to supplemental material to expand learning and engagement.”
For more information or to RSVP to attend, call the UW Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at 766-6672 or email diversity@uwyo.edu.
