A number of documentaries will be screened during the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour Tuesday, Feb. 18, and Wednesday, Feb. 19, at 7 p.m. in the University of Wyoming College of Arts and Sciences auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.
UW’s 7220 Entertainment and Outdoor Program co-host the event, which also is sponsored by NU2U Sports, All Terrain Sports, Laramie’s Basecamp and Atmosphere Mountainworks.
The Banff Mountain Film Festival began small, reaching only three cities in Canada. In 1986, the festival began an outreach program to bring its films to other communities. The organizers’ objective was to share the talent of the world’s finest mountain filmmakers to larger audiences.
Today, the tour brings mountain films to thousands of people who cannot make the annual trek to the Canadian Rockies.

The 7220 Entertainment Films Committee, which organized the event, meets Thursdays at 4 p.m. in the Campus Activities Center (CAC) during the school year.
