University of Wyoming students have the opportunity to stay in contact and engaged through UW’s 7220 Entertainment virtual events.
“How do we stay engaged with our community even when we are miles apart? This is a question that UW’s 7220 Entertainment has been challenged with due to the COVID-19 campus closure,” says Rachel Stevens, Wyoming Union public relations coordinator.
The answer is scheduling virtual events that use a variety of online platforms to keep UW students involved with their peers and provide much-needed study breaks. From online trivia nights to a livestreamed paint party, the events are geared toward different audiences and interests within the UW student body.
“Research has consistently shown student engagement is critical to student success. As we find ourselves in different places during this health crisis, it is more important than ever to remain connected and build community,” says Jeremy Davis, director of the Center for Student Involvement and Leadership (CSIL). “7220 Entertainment and CSIL are here to bring UW together during these tough times.”
