Incoming University of Wyoming President Ed Seidel is asking members of the UW community to help him select the university’s interim provost/vice president for academic affairs.
He will accept suggestions regarding who should fill the interim role until 5 p.m. Monday, April 27. Those wishing to submit names of potential internal UW candidates, along with brief comments on those individuals, may do so by going to this nomination form.
“As I prepare to make this decision, in consultation with Acting President Theobald and other senior leadership of the university, it’s important that I hear from as many UW faculty and staff members as possible,” Seidel says. “Please take a few moments to share your thoughts with me, if you’re interested and able to do so.”
The president-elect is consulting with various university stakeholders to consider candidates and select an acting vice president for academic affairs to take the position July 1, with UW Board of Trustees approval. That person will serve until a new provost is selected. A national search is planned to begin in September.
Seidel, who will officially assume the UW presidency July 1, is meeting regularly via distance technologies with Acting President Neil Theobald and other university administrators as part of the transition process.
