The University of Wyoming’s Half Acre Recreation and Wellness Center is offering online programs this semester until the return of employees and students to campus later next month.
The facility is scheduled to reopen Monday, Sept. 28, as part of UW’s Phase 3 of the reopening plan, according to Lena Newlin, the UW Half Acre Recreation and Wellness Center assistant director.
“In the meantime, we have been working hard to bring the campus community a variety of virtual program offerings to help members stay holistically well,” Newlin says.
Virtual programs offered include:
-- Big Sky Stress Management Mindfulness Workshop Series; Gatekeepers Training; Pokes’ Pets; Drop-in Meditation; and Self-Love and Happiness Workshop Series from the Wellness Center.
-- Major League Baseball Pick ’Em; National Basketball Association Playoff Pick ’Em; and Women’s National Basketball Association Pick ’Em from Intramural Sports.
-- Online yoga; dance fitness; strength and conditioning; and office movement breaks from the Fitness Program.
