The University of Wyoming Police Department (UWPD) has canceled its annual found property auction. The event was scheduled Wednesday, Sept. 30.
The police department had to cancel the annual fall auction due to unforeseen circumstances, says UW Police Chief Mike Samp.
“We are considering hosting the auction sometime in the spring semester, if circumstances and timing allow,” Samp says. “If a spring auction is not possible, then we will plan to have the auction next fall.”
UWPD officers pick up and store found items from campus locations throughout the year. All unclaimed property is auctioned off annually in September. Typical items for sale to the public include bicycles, electronic devices, clothing, textbooks and sporting goods.
