UW President Seidel to Speak in Humanities Virtual Program Oct. 15

University of Wyoming President Ed Seidel and his partner, Professor Gabrielle Allen, are the guest speakers for the Wyoming Institute for Humanities Research’s (WIHR) “Think and Drink” series of virtual discussions Thursday, Oct. 15, at 5:30 p.m.

The event is free and open to the public. Participants can view the event at the Zoom link https://zoom.us/j/960820100#success.

The discussion will include a vision for the land-grant university’s mission in the 21st century and how UW can meet statewide and global challenges.

Seidel began service as the university’s 28th president July 1. Before coming to UW, he was the vice president for economic development and innovation for the University of Illinois System, building and supporting programs that engage university, public and private partners -- and strengthening the links among higher education, research and business to stimulate economic development across that state.

Allen is an associate dean for research in the College of Education, a professor in the departments of Astronomy and Curriculum and Instruction, and research professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
